Hi, friend.

Join me on my adventures in work, travel, and food.

L'Introduction

L'Introduction

The past few weeks have been indescribable. After years (!!) of planning, I said goodbye to Boston, moved home for Thanksgiving and hopped on a one-way flight to Paris. I'll be there for the next six months with my company, MSL. Woof. It's one thing to talk everyone's ear off about how you want to do something (sorry MSL Boston crew), and it's entirely something else to actually do it. But alas, my bags are packed and I'm currently sitting on a flight to my future. Here I go!

Granted, I'm no stranger to Paris. It was my first international destination when I was ~1, I studied abroad there in in June 2009, I went just this March for a new business pitch and there's been many a trip inbetween. I'm one lucky woman.

This trip feels different than any other, though. In fact, I currently have all the feels. I'm overwhelmingly grateful to be given this opportunity, excited at what's ahead, nervous for improving my language skills and generally scared shitless because I want so badly for this to be a success. That fear is exactly how I know I'm doing the right thing. My mom (hey Judes) always says that you're playing it too safe if you're not scared.

So yes, I'll definitely talk about work here - acclimating to a new office, the markets' differences, my inevitable language gaffes, etc. I'll also touch on the day-to-day of living in Paris - the soaring highs like when someone asks me for directions, the locals I meet and the food.

Oh, the food. Armed with several Parisian food bloggers, friends' advice and the Googles, I plan to attack this city. Is it coincidence that truffle season is right around the corner? I think not.

I have a running bucket list that I'll share hopefully tick off one-by-one. Got a suggestion, destination or piece of general advice? Send it my way! Otherwise, I'll keep you posted on this journey - you're along for the ride.

Had to. No shame.

Had to. No shame.
